Though the economic growth in India has slowed down from 9.6% in financial year 2006-07 to 8.7% last year (2007-08), perhaps due to impacts caused by recessionary trends in worlds markets, the appreciating rupee and inflation due to rising oil and commodity prices, the consumption, savings and investment patterns are still quite robust.

US boffins say that the tendency of laptops to run hotter and hotter as performance increases is out of control - to the point where notebooks will be as hot as the surface of the sun by 2030 on current trends. The American brainboxes reckon to solve the problem by using nanotech demons to violate the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

Big week for Utah and the rest of the conference...The PAC 10 finally got a win over the Mountain West Conference. Now the Beavers will try to continue the trend this Thursday in Utah. I wouldn' t be beating on a win for the Beavers against Utah, but Utah will have a chance this week to make a statement over a nationally recognized Oregon State..

In more bad news for John McCain and the Republican Party, a new ABC/News Washington Post poll finds that voters blame the Republican Party for killing the $700 billion bailout bill by a 2 to 1 margin. Ninety Five percent of those surveyed labeled the financial problems either a crisis, or a serious problem.
